Roberto Garate Discovery Academy and Jose Borrego Preparatory Academy will both be following campus dress codes for the upcoming school year. Dress code flyers have been posted and shared with families — these include all the guidelines students need to follow to help maintain a safe, respectful, and focused learning environment. Please note: Monte Alto ISD will not be selling uniform packages this school year. We appreciate your continued support in helping our students start the year prepared and confident!

Monte Alto ISD employees, administrators, and coaches, along with participants from surrounding districts including La Villa, Sharyland, Donna, and La Sara, began their 20-hour Bus Driver Safety Course today. This in-depth training provides the certification needed to safely operate small activity buses, helping ensure our students travel securely to games, competitions, and educational events. Dear JBMS Parents & Families, We are so to celebrate our amazing students and their accomplishments! As we prepare for this special day, we kindly ask for your help in keeping the event safe and respectful for everyone. 🚫 Please do NOT bring poppers that release confetti or colored powder. ✅ Noise makers (like clappers or air horns) are welcome! We are borrowing the high school gym, which will also host other events and our student dance later that evening. Let’s work together to keep the space clean and ready for everyone. 🎓 Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council Meeting 📚 Today, student leaders from across the district gathered for a powerful meeting of the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council. The conversation centered on key priorities for the 2025–2026 school year, including boosting classroom engagement, expanding access to clubs and activities, and creating more meaningful opportunities for student involvement. Our students brought thoughtful ideas, honest feedback, and a strong commitment to making our schools more vibrant, inclusive, and inspiring. We’re proud to work alongside them to shape a brighter future!

From early mornings to busy lunch hours, they work hard behind the scenes to make sure we have delicious meals and a welcoming environment. We had a fantastic evening at our recent Board Meeting! In addition to discussing key updates and future plans, we proudly recognized several outstanding students for their achievements in academics, athletics and the Arts. A big congratulations to all the students honored — your hard work, leadership, and dedication inspire us all!

📚✨ Author Visit at RGE! ✨📚 Our RGE students had a visit from local author Eliza M. Garza, author of Raspas con mi Grandpa: A Spanglish Story! 🎉📖 Students enjoyed listening to Ms. Garza share her story, talk about the inspiration behind her book, and celebrate the beauty of language, culture, and family. It was an inspiring experience that encouraged our young readers and writers to embrace their creativity and heritage. A huge thank you to Eliza M. Garza for spending time with us and sharing her heart through storytelling! 🧡🍧

🌟 Attention 5th, 6th and 7th Graders and Parents! 🌟 Are you ready to take your academic journey to the next level? 📚✨ We will be hosting a meeting in the JBMS library at 5pm on Tuesday April 8th, 2025. We will be providing information for both parents and students on the upcoming High School Classes we will be offering our top 8th grade students in the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. These courses will allow students to study advanced subjects, explore new interests, or get a head start on their high school career. We encourage your attendance so that you may get more information on the exciting upcoming changes to our Academics.

Monte Alto ISD FFA students are continuing to make history. RGE student Jourdyn Martinez, placed 2nd in the New Zealand Market Rabbit Competition. She has earned a spot in Sell of Champions on Saturday, at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show.
